Program Targets

The five program targets for 2018-2022 which are conducted throughout the year are:

Target 1: HBCU for Life: A Call to Action

Committee membersconduct a variety of activities on the campus of Kentucky State University (Kentucky’s HBCU) to support students.  

Target 2: Women’s Healthcare and Wellness

This committee offers a variety of programs promoting self-care and wellness for women. 

Target 3: Building Your Economic Legacy

This committee focuses on: 1) Personal financial planning, including workshops to provide information about saving, investing, credit repair and improving credit scores, and retirement planning.  2) Entrepreneurship – to highlight and promote African-American owned businesses and provide venues for black vendors and entrepreneurs (especially women) to sell to the community; encourage support of black restaurant owners by the community.  3) Operation AKA assist – Programs directed to the homeless, homeless children, & homeless veterans.

Target 4: The Arts

 The Arts Committee sponsors and supports activities that present black arts—music, theatre, art—to the community, including to children in the schools.

Target 5: Global Impact

This committee makes and collects pillow case dresses for Africa, and collects eye glasses and shoes for the Lions Club of Lexington.
