Since 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has implemented programs of service impacting countless lives.

The 2014-2018 International Program will operate under the theme of Launching New Dimensions of Service℠.  Beta Gamma Omega Chapter, along with Alpha Kappa Alpha women in 986 chapters throughout the world will address the needs in Greater Lexington with following programs in the five target areas:

    • Pink Goes Red for Heart Health*
    • National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) Walk

    • Mental Health Awareness Day*
    • Minority Mental Health Week
  3. Family Strengthening
    • God’s Pantry Volunteer Days
    • Seasonal Wraps Drive
    • Fatherhood Initiative/Restoration of Voting Rights Awareness
    • Childhood Hunger Awareness Day*
    • Buy Black Monday
    • Minority Doll Drive
    • Financial Literacy Workshops
  4. Environmental Ownership
    • Acts of Green
    • 1908 Playground Mobilization Day*
  5. Global Impact
    • Coretta Scott King Spirit of Ivy Awards
    • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service*

*We will also work diligently to expand our community presence as a result of these initiatives through several Community Impact Days.
